We're installing 180m of vehicle barrier along the Grand Junction Reservoir in Upper Sunbury Road. This crucial £2.1 million project will minimise danger to the public in the event of an accident.
We're carrying out this work to:
There will be a lane closure in Upper Sunbury Road. It will start opposite Hampton Care Home and end opposite Berkley House.
There will be one-way flow of traffic from west to east on Upper Sunbury Road. If you're travelling this way, your route won’t be affected.
There will be diversion routes in place for traffic flowing from east to west: High Street - Uxbridge Road - Twickenham Road - Country Way - Staines Road East - end.
We're working along Grand Junction Reservoir, Upper Sunbury Road, Hampton, Middlesex.
Our work starts on 7 July 2025 for 15 weeks, aiming to complete works by the end of October 2025.
Working hours will be Monday to Saturday, 7:30am to 5pm. We may also work Sundays if needed to maintain the 15-week program.
Onsite works are progressing to the planned schedule. Temporary works have been installed, the palisade fence has been removed, and CFA piling has commenced.
We're sorry for the disruption this essential work will cause. We've worked with Richmond Council, Surrey County Council and TfL to minimise impact.
Thank you for your patience while we make things better. It’s all part of our investment across the region to upgrade assets and maintain our water supply for future generations.
