Upgrading 16km of pipes
We’re investing £25 million to upgrade 16km of pipes for the network travelling from Farmoor treatment works to Oxford and Swindon.
These vital improvements will help:
- Provide a more reliable water supply
- Improve water pressure
- Restore Thames Water’s trunk main network resilience
- Reduce relaying on groundwater sources that draw from chalk steams and the River Kennet
- Increase trunk main capacity
- Adapt the network pipes due to the growing population in the area
