Upgrading 16km of pipes

We’re investing £25 million to upgrade 16km of pipes for the network travelling from Farmoor treatment works to Oxford and Swindon.

These vital improvements will help:

  • Provide a more reliable water supply
  • Improve water pressure
  • Restore Thames Water’s trunk main network resilience
  • Reduce relaying on groundwater sources that draw from chalk steams and the River Kennet
  • Increase trunk main capacity
  • Adapt the network pipes due to the growing population in the area
