Emergency Repairs

Last updated: 13/06 08:56

We’re sorry for any disruption to drivers while we work to fix a leak on a large pipe beneath Osney Bridge in Botley Road, Oxford.

The emergency repair is needed after a boat hit the pipe, causing a leak. We’ve had to close one lane in order to work safely, and have put traffic lights in place. Once we remove these, we’ll still need to keep the cycle lane closed to allow room for a temporary pipe across the bridge, which we’ll install later this month.

We’ll need to keep this in place until we can permanently replace the damaged pipe under the bridge – we’re sorry in the meantime for the inconvenience to cyclists.

Most of the work we’re doing is beneath the bridge, so for much of the time our team won’t be visible to drivers.

We know this area is a busy route for traffic, and are aiming to complete our repair as soon as we can. Thanks for bearing with us while we carry out this important work.
