Brookdale pipe replacement
We’ll be working in Brookdale as part of our project to replace a major pipe in the area.
Working in two phases
The project will be carried out in two phases. We’ll complete works on one section before moving along the road onto the next section.
Phase One – 26th February 2024 to May 2024
During Phase One, we’ll be installing a new water main in the eastern side of the carriageway. Phase One will be split into two sections.
Work is set to take place between the junction of Bowes Road and the entrance to Arnos Park.
Phase Two – July / August 2024
Closer to the time of starting Phase Two, we’ll provide more information. Phase Two is expected to last for approximately four weeks.
How this may affect you
Our current working hours are 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday. We’ll do our best to minimise any disruption to you. Please note, we have an hour before and after our scheduled working time in which we prepare and close off works.
If access to your property is affected, we'll let you know in advance. Pedestrians, emergency vehicles and bin collections will have full access to roads. View our business loss of profits policy if you feel your business has been affected.
Property and footpath access
There will be no vehicle access to the driveway of some properties on the eastern side of Brookdale.
We’ll be working in 75 metre phases and driveway access will be restricted for approximately 2 weeks. Residents impacted will be informed prior to work starting.
No work will be completed on the footpath. Pedestrian access will always be maintained for residents and businesses.
Road and traffic changes
There will be a road closure for northbound traffic on Brookdale to facilitate the works. There will be no northbound traffic on Brookdale. This will be between Bowes Road and the Arnos Park entrance. The diversion route for northbound traffic will be clearly signposted.
Ravenscraig Road and Betstyle Road will be temporarily changed to being one-way. This means:
- No turning from Waterfall Road into Ravenscraig Road
- There will be no turning from Bowes Road into Betstyle Road
- The signed diversion for non-local traffic will be via Betstyle Circus and Waterfall Road
